Protect What Matters

The Science

Impact Absorbing Foam

1

In Regular Use

You won't even notice it's there. Under normal conditions, whether walking or just sitting down, the foam is soft and flexible, meaning you'll forget it's even there.

2

During a Fall

The foam hardens upon impact to absorb and dissipate the impact force. The foam is strategically positioned in the most vulnerable areas to reduce the risk of fracture.

3

After the Fall

After the fall, the foam returns to its normal soft and flexible state. Undetectable again, allowing you to walk comfortably and with the confidence that if you do fall it is ready to protect you again.

Combined with a polyethylene foam base layer, our dual-layer system targets force reduction below the 2 kilonewton fracture threshold — the point at which bones break.

Strategic Protection

Where It Matters Most

Model demonstrating Parachute protection zones
Head

Discreet Cranial Protection

A padded hood design provides discreet head safety. It looks and drapes like a standard premium jacket hood but functions as a critical impact absorption layer.

Waist

Integrated Core & Waist Guard

Safety modules positioned around the waist and lower back shield key core areas, reducing the risk of impact injuries during rearward or side falls.

Hips

D3O® Hip Smart Armor

Targets the femoral neck—the site of 90% of hip fractures in senior falls. D3O® padding stays soft during motion but hardens instantly to disperse fracture-level forces.

Our Story

A word from Parachute's Founder

My urge to find a solution to this problem came from seeing my nana Norma suffer a fall whilst gardening outside and fracturing both wrists. Even after this incident, she refused to purchase any of the currently available protective solutions — they were bulky, stigmatizing, and therefore rarely worn.
I founded Parachute to prove that protection doesn't have to come at the cost of dignity. Six years ago I started a furniture company with just $5,000 — today it generates $6 million a year. Now I'm bringing that same drive to a problem that affects 15 million elderly Americans every year.
